Chelsea had more than enough chances to put this game way, but the lack of extra time in the EFL Cup these days means we go straight to penalties.




It did give stand-in keeper Kepa the chance to atone for his earlier error and become the hero for the night, and he made one great save to deny Theo Walcott, while Will Smallbone ballooned his effort over the bar.

Thomas Tuchel 'names ideal Man United transfer' as Sir Jim Ratcliffe gets manager update

According to reports, Thomas Tuchel is no longer in contention to become  Manchester United 's new manager. The information was released soon after it was claimed on Sunday that Tuchel had a covert meeting in Monaco with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, United's co-owner. The German has been heavily linked with United after news emerged in February that the former Chelsea boss was leaving Bayern Munich. In order to determine Erik ten Hag's future at Old Trafford, United is presently reviewing the 2023–2024 campaign.
