Photo revealed : as Manchester United star set to miss Atletico game in the Champions league has he sustains cuts and bruises.

Scott McTominay appeared to relish

the old school battle between Manchester

 United and Leeds.

The throwback fixture took place in

wet conditions with puddles across the

pitch and players sliding around.

The conditions were ready-made for midfielder

Scott McTominay, who appeared to relish

throwing himself about and going in for

every challenge.

The Scotland international did lots of the

dirty work in United’s midfield, working

tirelessly – and also it seems, playing

through the pain.

After the game McTominay showed off

a picture of his ankle, cover in cuts after

 a physical 90 minutes, calling it a ‘

proper game’.

McTominay may be a little sore in the

morning but these are not likely to be

injuries which will keep him out of United’s

 next fixture.

There is however a real selection dilemma

ahead for manager Ralf Rangnick heading

into the clash with Atletico Madrid.

Both Fred and Paul Pogba have been stating

their cases for selection in midfield, and

McTominay has been a near ever

present under Rangnick.

McTominay was a little fortunate not

to be sent off in the win, having walked

a real tightrope in the second half after

a couple of late challenges. Thankfully

there was a little leniency from the referee.

He won three tackles and made two interceptions

, while also coming off better in an

early clash of heads with German defender

 Robin Koch, who required stitches.

On a day where United needed the players

to dig in and fight, McTominay proved

up to the task, with the team’s skillful

players doing the business in the final third.
